Housing Assistant - Neighbourhoods

Grade C £16,881 - £17,772 pro rata

CH183 –  29.6 Hours per week

Fixed Term up to 2 years from appointment

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who is committed to providing a high quality customer focused housing service.  The Tenancy Services Team consists of 3 specialist teams: Neighbourhoods, Income Management and Allocations & Sheltered Housing.

The Tenancy Services Team is a compact, highly motivated team and you will be working under the supervision of the Neighbourhood Assistant Team Leader  and you will have a key role in assisting with the delivery of Neighbourhood Management and other key Tenancy Services functions. Key importance will be given to the administration of various neighbour nuisance and Anti-Social Behavour matters.

You will need good communication skills as well as the ability to prioritise and use initative to organise your own work load to meet performance deadlines. Other functions of the role will include updating and maintaining housing records, advising tenants on neighbourhood management and housing related tenancy matters both face to face or written communication.

You should have previous experience of frontline customer service including face to face interviews, telephone contact and letter writing and have experience of and competent in routine office administration systems.

You should be able to recognise and deal with stressful situations within the work environment and have the ability to use Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel and Outlook to be able to assist in the compilation of statistics.

You should hold GCSE’s in Mathematics and English at Grade C or above or equivalent vocational or academical experience.

Previous experience of reception duties and a basic understanding of the Social Housing field of work would be desirable.
