 An exciting opportunity is available to work within the Client Services Team at Wychavon District Council, Pershore in the heart of rural Worcestershire. You will assist the busy Greenspace Officers in the delivery of award winning Parks and open spaces.

Greenspace Officer - Part Time, 24 hours per week - 3 days at 8 hours per day


Working with the Client Services Team, the post holder will assist the Senior Parks and Greenspace Officer with the day to day monitoring and organisation of the work on open spaces, verges and parks including dealing with contractors, forward planning, refurbishment projects, events in parks, play areas, tree and shrub management, GIS mapping systems, budget control and all other aspects of open space management.

There will be the occasional need to assist with enforcement issue such as abandoned cars, fly tipping, PSPO’s.

To apply you will need a relevant qualification or substantial experience in Horticulture or a closely related subject. Previous experience in dealing with customers/public in a relevant field of Horticulture/Landscape would be beneficial plus lots of enthusiasm and a flexible approach to work.    

Horticultural knowledge especially for trees, shrubs and grassland management.

Monitoring contractors work.

IT skills

Communication skills

Time management

Customer service

Experience of working in a team and ability to work alone

Ability to calculate technical data

The post holder will need to be a driver and have use of their own vehicle for making site visits.

The post holder will need to be capable of working out doors and making lone site visits to a variety of landscape sites.

This post is to cover 24 hours per week, the exact hours or days of work will be agreed with the successful applicant in line with the demands of the service.
