Experienced Social Workers – Fostering and Kinship

Salary: Up to £32,486 for 37 hours per week

Working in partnership with our locality safeguarding teams the Fostering Service undertakes recruitment, assessments and supervision and provides support for mainstream and Kinship carers.

Working as part of a mainstream fostering team you will be responsible for the recruitment, assessment, supervision and support of foster carers which will also include delivering foster care training.

Alternatively working as part of the Kinship team you will be responsible for the assessment, supervision and support of kinship foster carers which will also include delivering foster carer training and undertaking viability and special guardianship assessments for court submission.

To work in either team you will need to be able to demonstrate that you have a good understanding of fostering regulations and minimum standards and how the fostering service contributes towards the overall support and care planning needs of looked after children.   You will need to be able to demonstrate good assessment and report writing skills, along with the ability to work independently or as part of a team and to deadlines.
