A Positive Action training initiative for disabled people

The Recruit-Ability programme provides part-time paid work experience and training for people who have a disability.  Additionally, participants can expect to receive full support and advice and access to training courses.

Please note: The following placement is available to disabled people only who are new to Walsall Council and new to this type of positive action programme.

Based at the New Art Gallery Walsall
18.5 hours per week – working pattern to be agreed
9-month fixed-term contract

Pay:  Training allowance of £16,244 pro rata to hours worked.  This post qualifies for the Living Wage. The Council is committed to paying the Living Wage which is currently £8.75 per hour. This arrangement will be reviewed annually.

You will provide administrative and technical support to the New Art Gallery.  This will include helping with the preparation of materials for exhibitions, workshops and events, general typing and helping with finance.  You will also help to set up exhibitions, events and displays at the gallery.

Applicants should have a familiarity and interest in Art and have the ability to assist with exhibitions and events and to provide administrative support.
