We’re looking for 2 experienced Social Workers to join our Fostering team.

Warwickshire’s Fostering Service is responsible for the assessment and support of a range of Foster Carers. The service works closely with Children’s Teams to ensure that children are placed with appropriate foster families. The Fostering Service is a central team with office bases in Warwick and Bedworth.

The Role

37.0 Hours per Week
Fixed term contract for 12 months

You will be joining an established team providing a social work service to a highly professional standard. Managing a caseload of Foster Carers, you’ll be working with and supporting Foster Carers and children. Undertaking fostering assessments, providing placement plans, monitoring their effectiveness, attending meetings, providing advice and completing the required paperwork are all part of your role. You’ll be communicating with a wide variety of service users, communities, partners and agencies as well as working on your own initiative, often in pressurised situations.

Key Requirements

To be successful in this role it’s important you have a professional Social Work qualification, are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and have some Social Work experience. It’s also important you have strong analytical and communication skills both written and verbal and can work on your own initiative as well as collaboratively with internal and external customers. With the ability to work to tight deadlines, often under pressure, whilst at all times maintaining composure and your professional stance, you will be used to making difficult decisions. With strong influencing, persuading, resilience and good IT skills it would be great if you have experience of Children Services or Fostering.
