An exciting opportunity has arisen within Walsall’s Money Home Job team.

We are looking for someone who has significant skills and experience in corporate strategy writing and implementation, specifically in the field of housing and homelessness.  You will be responsible for the delivery of multi agency strategies, in particular Walsall’s Homelessness Strategy.  The ability to work with and influence partners will be a critical skill requirement, and a key area of work will be to maintain and enhance existing housing partnerships, and develop new governance arrangements required for the homelessness strategy.

You will have commissioned, monitored and delivered housing related contracts, and be responsible for drawing up specifications and co-ordinating contracts in line with corporate procedures and financial regulations.

You will have knowledge of affordable housing delivery and securing affordable housing through the planning system.

You will demonstrate an ability to lead a research analysis and information programme to inform service development and delivery across the whole Money Home Job service, linking into corporate information and research programmes as required.

You will have demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the housing sector, across the local regional and national agendas.  This will include an ability to interpret national housing policy and legislation, and provide briefings to senior managers on the implications of these changes.

You will be passionate about housing, and will look to drive the service forward, putting policies in place to help as many people as possible stay in their own homes, or access more suitable accommodation. You must be confident in managing a number of tasks simultaneously and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.

For more information, contact Neil Hollyhead on 01922 655411 or at neil.hollyhead@walsall.gov.uk

Closing date for applications: Wednesday 23 May 2018
Interviews will be held during week commencing 4th June 2018
