Beeches Junior School is a three form entry junior school with 360 fantastic children.  In January 2018 we were rated as Good in our inspection report, which states: “Relationships between pupils, staff and parents and carers are extremely positive.  Staff take time to get to know the pupils as individuals.  As a result, pupils feel valued and they love coming to school.”

We are looking for an excellent teacher with a passion for English to lead this vital area, starting in September 2018.  This could be an excellent opportunity for someone taking their first steps into senior leadership to work closely with a supportive leadership team to build on our strengths and continue to improve our standards.  The role is class based, with release time available to carry out leadership duties.

The successful candidate will:

  • be passionate about inspiring children to achieve success and enjoy learning;
  • enjoy leading others to make learning fun;
  • be motivated and enthusiastic about working with staff across the school to raise standards further across the school;
  • take a lead role in monitoring standards and moderating assessment judgments;
  • be a consistently excellent classroom practitioner with good subject knowledge across the curriculum, particularly in English;
  • be an enthusiastic team-member;
  • have a desire to learn and develop professionally;
  • be keen to engage in learning for his/her own CPD;

In return, we can offer:

  • an enthusiastic leadership team who have high ambitions for the school;
  • a strong culture of reading and a rich and varied collection of books;
  • a highly supportive governing body, leadership team and staff;
  • a friendly, supportive environment and CPD opportunities to help you develop your career;
  • well-behaved, enthusiastic children who are keen to learn;
  • leadership release time;
  • links with local schools and networks;

Closing Date: Monday 21 May 2018, 12.00 noon

We would encourage and welcome an informal visit to the school.  Please contact the school office to arrange this, and to obtain an application pack.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to all necessary pre-employment checks, including: an enhanced DBS; Prohibition check; Childcare Disqualification (where applicable); qualifications (where applicable); medical fitness; identity and right to work.  All applicants will be required to provide two suitable references.
