Group Manager - Green Care
We are seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to effectively manage the Green Care Teams, providing leadership and strategic direction in the delivery of Parks, Open Spaces, Countryside, and Grounds Maintenance services, in order to protect, develop, enhance and promote the Borough’s green spaces, for the benefit of residents and visitors.
Hours: 37 per week
Grade 13 (£45,072 – £48,414) per annum
You will be responsible for meeting the requirements of current legislation, develop, and implement new initiatives to improve and monitor the performance of the Green Care Section, and will support the environmental, economic and cultural development of the Borough as a key member of the Street and Green Care team within the Environmental Services division.
You must hold a recognised managerial qualification to degree level, or an equivalent NQF level 7 professional qualification together with membership of a relevant professional institution. In addition, you should hold a NQF level 5 Certificate or equivalent qualification in a land management and maintenance discipline e.g. Amenity Horticulture, Nature Conservation, Ecology, Landscape design etc. or provide a commitment to achieve this level of qualification.
You will have significant experience in a senior management position in the field of Grounds / Land / Parks Management and Maintenance in the public sector with a high level of responsibility for service delivery and performance.
You must have the ability to communicate at all levels, be able to work to deadlines and targets, design and implement management plans and work schedules and have a flexible approach to your work. You must have a current driving licence.
