This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward thinking service that puts children at the heart of what they do.

You will take responsibility for ensuring the Local Authority discharges its duty by quality assuring social work practice and reviewing service to children with a child protection plan and looked after children with a care or pathway plan. Driving and building on improved practice is central to the role.

A minimum 5 years post qualifying experience substantially in services to children and families is essential along with experience of providing social work supervision/direction and support and challenging practice appropriately where necessary (required as per the Department for Children, Schools and Families – IRO Handbook Section 2.16- regulation 46).

This post will join a well-established motivated team who are committed to improving the life journey and outcomes for children. The team uses a restorative approach to strengthen our engagement with children and families and maximise the effectiveness of our intervention.

For this role the successful candidates must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities. A BPSS check involves four main elements; Identity Check, National and Immigration Status, Employment History (last 3 years) and Verification of Criminal Record (unspent convictions only).

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
