Senior Family Support Worker – Children’s Disability Service
Salary: £22,401 - £25,463 per annum
37 Hours per week – Permanent
Staffordshire County Council continues to undertake significant investment in its Children’s Services known as Families First.
A rare opportunity has arisen across Staffordshire Families First for 1 x full time (37 hours) Senior Family Support Worker, within the Children’s Disability Service. This post is based in Newcastle under Lyme but covers the Newcastle and Staffordshire Moorlands District.
We have 4 Children’s Disability teams across the county and they provide specialist services for children and young people with complex disabilities. These are small teams of highly dedicated Social Workers who support each other in the day to day task of ensuring we reach the best outcomes for our Disabled children in a timely manner, enabling them to live their lives to the full. We also are supported by a team of skilled Family Support workers who assist in facilitating behaviour management work and undertaking direct work. The teams complete all statutory functions from Safeguarding referrals, Looked after Children, Care Proceedings to Child In Need.
The role is to provide support to the Disabled children in Newcastle under Lyme and Staffordshire Moorlands in respect of facilitating contact, direct work, supporting families with behaviour management, parenting support and supporting Social Workers in assessments. The ability to engage and communicate with Disabled children is essential and the successful applicant will be committed to ensuring the children known to the service receive the best quality service.
