The Business Transformation department within WMP is pivotal to the successful delivery of the WMP2020 transformational change programme and an exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Business Change team in the role of Change Practitioner.

Primarily focusing on the ‘people’ side of change, this role will be central in driving business change activity alongside both project teams and local Change Agents as we move towards the next phase of WMP2020.

  

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring all necessary business change activities within their aligned projects are delivered. This will be achieved by ensuring change interventions are planned for and regularly tracked and monitored in order to best prepare and support individuals through the change journey, minimising any adverse impact and ensuring sustainable change is embedded in order to enable project benefits to be realised.

Specific Role Responsibilities

 

  • Provide specialist and consistent change management advice, tools and methodologies to Project/Programme Managers, SROs  and the Change Network, ensuring successful implementation of business changes throughout the project life cycle 
  • Validating and ensuring the timely completion of change impact assessments during the commissioning process 
  • Build, maintain and analyse the change heat map, highlighting and escalating risks as appropriate 
  • Identifying and recommending appropriate interventions to reduce the impact of change on both individuals and the organisation 
  • Support the creation of individual project business change and benefit realisation plans
  • Lead on project level change measurement activities  e.g. business readiness assessments 
  • Work with the PMO and project managers to ensure all change activities are captured, planned for and reported in accordance with the timescales determined within project  governance arrangements 

 

  • Provide a link between the Change Network and Project Teams (to ensure project and local change plans align)
  • Ensure project/programme communications and engagement activities are delivered and aligned to the overarching portfolio 
  • Provide business change and engagement up-skilling for project teams
  • Support in the development of the WMP Change Methodology and ensure its Continuous Improvement
  • Support Key Programme Level Change Activities (i.e. Change Tracking, Change Capability Assessments, Ways of Working Surveys/focus groups)
  • Support Change Network Events (Develop and support delivery of materials)
  • Support the on-going engagement of the Change network
  • Support in the development and Delivery of the Change Academy (to change network, BT Team and Project Teams)
  • Work with Lead Change Agents and Change Agents to analyse and interpret change tracking outcomes and lead on the preparation of local change plans
  • Build the capability and capacity of change management through the implementation of the local change plans
  • Measure Communication & Engagement effectiveness
  • Ownership and continuous improvement of the change methodology and ensure that the Change Network are up-skilled to use it

  Qualifications  

Skills and Experience

Essential:

 

Proven ability to understand the strategic aims and objectives of the organisation  

 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with a variety of audiences within and external to WMP
  • Excellent relationship management/ stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Experienced and competent in the use of MS Office applications (specifically SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Utilising key change management skills, approaches and methodology
  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills
  • Excellent organisational and presentation skills

 

Desirable: 

 

  • To have experience of applying change methodology throughout a project life cycle

 

Qualifications

Essential:

 

  • Change management qualification (or equivalent for example MSP, Organisational Change)
  • Proven track record in delivery change 
  • Desirable:
  • CIPD membership
