About the Role

We are always on the lookout for Talented, Passionate and Dedicated Social Workers to join our team, whether you specialise in Looked After Children and Permanence, Safeguarding and Assessment or Care Management Teams or you have experience in all of these areas.

As a valued Senior Social Worker, you will use your wealth of post-qualifying experience to make a real difference to the children, young people and families of Sandwell. Championing best practice, you will safeguard and promote their welfare, ensuring all legislative requirements are met.

You will be responsible for a complex caseload of children and young people, assessing and planning for children in need of protection and in care. You will work in a proactive and timely way with multi-agency partners, using resources to their best advantage, with the child’s voice at the centre of all you do.

You will be able to lead on section 47 work, with a sound knowledge of legislation and child development needs.

With a flexible approach, you’ll support your Team Manager to ensure a high-quality service is delivered

What you need

  • You must be Social Work qualified with a good level of experience in working in a children and families setting.
  • A sound knowledge of legislation and guidance.
  • A clear decision maker and good team worker.
  • The role requires someone who can work flexibly and outside of the core working hours.

A current Enhanced DBS is required for this position and registration with the HCPC
