1 fixed term contract, 37 hour per weeks until September 2019

1 temporary part-time, 18.5 hours per week until September 2019

An exciting opportunity has arisen to a recruit Local Authority Schools Officer’s working under the management of the Attendance and Inclusion Team.

You will be part of a team who are based at Friargate House and work in primary, secondary schools and Extended Learning Centres (ELC’s).

The main function of the role is to provide schools in Coventry with support and direct inventions to address attendance issues with children and young people.

The role will involve attendance work within the statutory functions of the Local Authority, but also the attendance traded offer. You will also work to support senior staff in preparing legal documentation and with Children Missing Education.

You will be expected to work with a range of primary and secondary pupils (aged 5-16) and their families. This could include visits to family homes, meetings at schools, reviewing plans and policies and providing support for families.

You will be expected to work on your own initiative with families, schools, management, staff, relevant professionals and agencies.

The role will involve independent working and travel between schools in Coventry. Access to a car is essential.
