Student Intern – Corporate Strategy and Policy Assistant

Are you looking for an opportunity to develop your research, analysis and organisational skills whilst working in a real job?
We are looking for two student interns to join our Corporate Strategy and Policy Team for up to eight weeks (on a full-time basis) over the summer of 2018.
You will be a highly motivated and organised team player, possessing the key skills required to support the work of the Team - and assisting Worcester City Council with the delivery of a number of exciting projects.
One intern will focus on supporting a project to review current IT infrastructure within the Council; conduct an horizon scanning exercise to ascertain what other organisations/local authorities are using at present; and identify/suggest solutions on ways forward. You will have a strong educational background in IT, and possess considerable knowledge of fit-for-purpose products and/or services, as the Council continues its drive to embrace new technologies.
The second intern will focus on: supporting the development of a new approach to customer services; developing a policy library; and producing a ‘State of the City’ report, which will track the city’s progress on a range of key demographic, economic and environmental-related factors.
You will have strong research and analytical skills, and be a strong communicator with excellent report-writing skills. You will already have developed good project management skills, combines with practical experience gained through university projects.
