We have an opportunity for an Apprentice ICT Technician. Required to start in September 2018, 32.5 hours per week, term time only.

We are looking to recruit an exceptional apprentice to join our committed and enthusiastic team. The successful candidate will play an important role within our school taking ownership of and resolving IT related issues around the school ensuring that they do not impact adversely on teaching and learning. This is why we need someone with great problem-solving skills too!

In addition, we are looking for someone with:

• ICT skills and knowledge

• A warm and friendly nature

• Good social and communication skills

• Ability to work as part of a team, professional manner

• To be a committed, punctual and reliable member of the team

• GCSE English Language and Maths at grades A-C or equivalent (or prepared to achieve equivalent functional skills qualifications during the apprenticeship)

The role will be 32.5 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks). The hours worked will be:

08.30 to 15:45 Monday to Friday (including 45 minutes lunch)

Salary of £5.90 per hour for an exceptional candidate.

Main Duties will include:-

• Supporting the schools IT infrastructure on a daily basis

• Providing technical assistance to staff on IT issues

• Liaison with SMBC helpdesk and ICT team

• Ownership and resolution of IT related issues

• Maintenance and upkeep of records including asset register for IT related equipment

• Upkeep of school website

Reynalds Cross School provides an opportunity to start a career working in education within a school environment. Initially this is an apprenticeship position for up to 15 months. You will receive comprehensive training throughout the apprenticeship with on going support from the school. The successful candidate will be required to achieve a Level 3 IT Infrastructure Technician qualification, which is likely to be obtained on day release to Solihull College (this is still being confirmed).
