We are currently recruiting for the HEART Team Manager.

The Home Environment Assessment and Response Team (HEART) is a formal partnership across the 6 Warwickshire local authorities. Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is proud to be the hosting authority for this service which aims to bring together the provision of housing adaptations, improvements and minor adaptations for residents across Warwickshire.

HEART is committed to continue to improve the services provided to customers and focuses on delivering the right solution at the right time to both the person and their carers. Our overall aim is to ensure that people are able to maintain an independent life and ensure their home environment is adapted appropriately and is safe and warm.


We are currently recruiting for a HEART Team Manager who will lead a 4 teams of Occupational Therapists and Housing Assessment Officers responsible for the assessment of housing adaptations and environmental improvement.

The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant subject area.  You should be committed to providing a high level of service to residents through the development of up to date policy and promotion of our service to external agencies and partners. You will also have experience of management at a senior level, including the management of staff and budgets. You will be the main liaison with partner councils ensuring the necessary operational links.

If you are successful at the short listing stage you will be required to undertake online assessments for both verbal and numerical reasoning. You will then be invited for an interview, where we will also look forward to hearing a presentation, the topic for which will be sent in advance.

You should have recent and relevant service / team management experience of Housing, Environmental Health, Surveying, Occupational Therapy, Home Improvement Agency, Social Care or other relevant discipline.

Must be able to demonstrate effective project management skills where resources, risk and project management tools have been used effectively.

Must be able to work under pressure with short deadlines and sometimes having to deal with individuals or subject matter that can be emotive and demanding.

Must be an excellent communicator and able to produce accurate detailed reports, demonstrating sound research, detailed analysis and justifiable recommendations.

Relevant degree level qualification.
