HGV Sweeper Driver
Worcester City Council are one of the biggest employers in Worcester, we undertake all operational tasks to allow the city to maintain its very high standards of safety and cleanliness. The Cleaner and Greener Operational Services team manage the day to day tasks this includes street sweeping, skip works, refuse collection, grass-cutting, strimming and many other duties that make Worcester a great place to live, work and play.
We are looking for a keen and motivated individual to join Cleaner and Greener as a Driver Team Leader. The role reports to the Operational Services Supervisor and will require a hands-on approach working with the various teams across the city.
The role will mainly involve driving LGV Sweeper vehicles and the responsibilities that come with a Certificate of Professional Competence.
The position will need to take a day to day lead on delivering scheduled work, while ensuring adherence to health and safety practises.
The applicant should be confident handling the manual and operational nature of the role while demonstrating good use of their own initiative and an ability to solve problems.
Worcester City Council Operational Services are looking for someone with experience as a driver in a similar position, with a track record of personal development and a willingness to learn.
Applicants must have the relevant driving licence (at least category C1) and Driver CPC.
Applicants must be physically fit, should ideally have previous supervisory / leadership experience and be willing to lead their team through times of change.
In addition all applicants must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to all duties and must be able to evidence excellent customer care skills.
The hours of work are 37 per week
Mon – Thurs: 7:30 to 15:30 Fri: 7:30 to 15:00
