Stoke-on-Trent is a city built on a history of industrial greatness. We are a Council with a set of strong values and a vision to be "Stronger Together" working in partnership to create a city we can all be proud of. Systemic practice is well established and embedded, working with families to achieve better outcomes with a determination that children in Stoke-on-Trent are at the heart of all we do.

We are currently seeking exceptional people who are skilled, dynamic and committed professionals who have a proven record of excellent practice skills across children's social care to join our management team and take a pivotal role in our journey to achieving 'good'. You will need to have the aptitude and values to lead services, ensuring that vulnerable children and young people in the city receive an excellent social work service.

We are seeking a principal manager within our Fostering Service. The role will lead on the recruitment and retention strategy for foster carers and work with regional partners, to work collaboratively within the North Midlands Permanency Partnership & West Midlands Fostering Consortium. You will support practice managers to ensure the recruitment, assessment, approval and supervision of all fostering households (including Regulation 24, Connected Persons/Kinship Carers) is compliant with fostering regulations, relevant policy and legislation.

We want you to inspire us and have a real impact on the way we work. In return you will gain the opportunity to develop your professional skills and your career in a challenging but supportive environment.

Benefits include a local government pension scheme, flexible working and a generous relocation package.
