The Countryside Access Team is seeking a enthusiastic professional to contribute to the maintenance of the Public Rights of Way network in and to the delivery of the Council's "Open for Business" and "The Environment" strategic priorities.
Working in the Countryside Access Team, this is a challenging but exciting post in which you will be responsible for ensuring the public rights of way network and other identified access routes are properly maintained. Although based in Worcester you will have responsibility for a specific part of the county working closely with other officers.
You will carry out inspections of public rights of way, often in response to problems reported by the public, and draw up schedules of work to be carried out by approved contractors. You will be responsible for checking work carried out by contractors, landowners or volunteers.
The post requires the ability to effectively manage a very busy workload, working to strict deadlines, and good communication skills as you will be required to liaise with landowners, contractors and others to resolve deficiencies in path maintenance and ensure compliance with statutory requirements. You will also work with network of voluntary parish paths wardens in your area.
