The role

Undertake general driving duties, which may include allocated vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes, Mechanical Pavement Sweepers and ride on grass cutting equipment

Undertake a range of associated street cleansing tasks, including

• Emptying litter and dog bins
• Removal of graffiti and sharp materials such as needle sticks
• Removal of fly posting and fly tipping
• Removal of spillages and dead animals
• Pavement sweeping

Undertake a range of associated grounds maintenance tasks, including

• Hedge and shrub bed maintenance
• Undertake grass cutting, strimming and edging, using a range of hand-held and power tools
• Basic horticultural tasks and ground level tree works
• Over marking of sports pitches.
• Carry out basic chemical control (under direct supervision)
• Erection and dismantling of sports equipment.

You’ll need:

Category C1 driving licence (must include the ability to drive manual vehicles) as a minimum (Driver Qualification Card desirable)

Ability to undertake a range of labouring tasks which involves regular bending, pulling and lifting
Communication skills to respond to public enquiries on site
Ability to work as part of a team
Ability to work on own initiative
Readiness to learn new skills through on the job training

Work Pattern:

Post one: 5.00am to 13.00pm on a Rota with weekend enhancements

Post two: 5.00am to 13.00am Monday to Friday

Post three: 7.00am to 15.00 Monday to Friday

Interview date: week commencing 03/08/18
