Building Services Officer Mechanical

Herefordshire Council is seeking to appoint a Building Services Mechanical Engineer or someone with similar professional building experience within the Design and Maintenance team of Property Services.
The position will cover the delivery of a range of building services related capital building projects across several services including corporate, educational and adult and children wellbeing. You will be required to provide support, advice and optional design proposals through the feasibility stages to completion of minor refurbishment and new builds.
To ensure compliance and best practice with all statutory and audit requirements are met throughout the corporate portfolio of varied properties. To monitor the installation of services and managing their maintenance once the building is completed. Making sure that all building services meet health and safety requirements and environmental legislation. To also promote and advise on energy efficiency and other sustainability initiatives
Ideally you will have good IT skills and are competent using AutoCad as well as having minimum 5 years experience with good design, technical and organizational skills. You will be proficient in taking the initiative and offering the lead on building services related projects. You will also be able to illustrate experience in maintaining and developing good client relationships, have excellent visual and verbal communication skills as well as having knowledge of current building regulations, legionella, gas safety and other service related regulations to ensure that the design and maintenance of building systems are compliant and meets legislative and health and safety requirements.
You will also be required to carry out condition surveys and support the maintenance team in carrying out planned and reactive works.
