Missing Return Home Officer – Ref CH13718
Salary: G7 £25,212 - £29,614 per annum

Walsall Children’s Services are looking to recruit to this important post. The successful applicant will be responsible for completing Return Home interviews with children and young people have gone missing from home on their return and then identifying any support needs to reduce the risk of a further missing episode.

Previous experience of working with children and young people is required as we need someone with good communication skills with children and young people and their families/carers who is able to work at pace.

For this role the successful candidates must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.  BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities.  A BPSS check involves four main elements; Identity Check, National and Immigration Status, Employment History (last 3 years) and Verification of Criminal Record (unspent convictions only). An enhanced DBS check is also required.

This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.  The postholder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English
