 Teaching Assistants Required for September 2018

St Andrew’s Church of England Primary School (Weston – near Stafford) is looking to appoint two teaching assistants to carry out mainly 1-2-1 support for a child who will be joining reception class in September.

Hours: Post 1 – 5 mornings a week – 8.50am until 12.30pm (18.3 hours per week)

            Post 2 – 5 afternoons a week – 12.30pm until 3.30pm (15 hours per week)

Contract: Term time only (Including INSET Days) – 37 hours FTE - Temporary

Pay:                 Grade 3    £16,863 - £17,391 pro rata

The school is looking for two excellent candidates, each able to work 1-2-1 supporting a child with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) under the supervision of the Reception class teacher. It would be an advantage for the successful candidates to have experience of working in an Early Years setting. These posts are externally funded and so temporary – on condition the funding remains.

Post 1: Each morning (8.50am – 12.30pm), settle the child into class. And then, work with the child:

  • to improve their attention span,
  • to develop their speech, language and social skills,
  • to support the child with their intimate care,
  • to assist them with their lunch and lunchtime play.

Post 2: Each afternoon (12.30pm – 3.30pm), settle the child into class after lunchtime. And then, work with the child:

  • to improve their attention span,
  • to develop their speech, language and social skills,
  • to support the child with their intimate care,
  • to assist them with their lunch and lunchtime play,
  • to handover to parents at the end of the school day.

Both post holders will be expected to liaise with each other and to contribute to any EHCP reviews.
