Staffordshire County Council Care Planning and Court Teams, holds responsibility for a high number of Looked After Children and Care Proceedings with responsibility for the conduct of cases through court and to conclusion. The team plans for the child’s long-term future, with options which may include a plan of Reunification, Child Arrangement Order, Care Order, Special Guardianship Order, Adoption, Kinship Care or Long-term Foster Care. There is a clear emphasis on placement stability and sound permanency planning.
As one of the two Team Co-ordinators you will be responsible for supporting and supervising Social Workers, AYSE’s and Family Support Workers to support the continuous development of colleagues. You will need to work closely with the Team Manager to ensure the needs of Looked After Children and Care Planning is prioritised and is of a consistent high quality. In addition to your supervisory role, you will be expected to deputise for the Team Manager.
You will need to have an up to date working knowledge of the Public Law Outline and Court processes, with an up to date knowledge of regulations with regard to permanency planning and adoption. You will be required to attend Court and to support social workers in the transition of cases between services.
