Housing Solutions Review Officer

£21,693 - £25,463 per annum plus essential car user allowance

37 hours per week

Temporary contract for up to 12 months


Tamworth Borough Council has a new and exciting opportunity within the housing solutions team for a Housing Solutions Review Officer.  This is an interesting and diverse role which will require a dynamic and highly motivated individual as the role includes a wide range of duties and provision of essential statutory services. 

The successful candidate will apply a proactive and enthusiastic approach to the service and have in-depth knowledge on Part VII of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) and relevant case law.

You must be able to manage your own caseload of homelessness and suitability of accommodations reviews in accordance with the above Act ensuring all statutory deadlines are met. You will need a high level of investigative skills to undertake in-depth enquiries into homelessness decisions and legal challenges to those decisions.

Within this diverse role there will also be requirements to collect and analyse data, and extract necessary information to enable housing solutions to respond to freedom of information requests, subject access requests and also statistics for the quarterly returns for the service.

Excellent communication and customer service skills are required as well as a good understanding of current housing issues and the ability to work using your own initiative. Home visits for the service may also be required.
