Senior Support Assistant
Line manage and supervise Support Assistants as appropriate, both formally and on a day to day basis, ensuring that all service users’ needs are being met to support their individual outcomes.
Provide a quality service by promoting the physical (including the administration of medication), emotional, social and intellectual well being of each service user.
Ensure that Health and Safety requirements are adhered to with due regard to service users, staff and all persons using Brandon Wood Farm.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual with an NVQ level 3 or a Diploma level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent or willingness to work towards.
The successful person should be able to work as part of the management team, using own initiative and respond flexibly to the needs of service users.
You will be able to use different electronic programs and a willingness to learn new programs to support you within your role.
Within the role you must be able to demonstrate a positive attitude to service users' rights, choice and dignity. You will have the ability to assess service user needs, record and maintain records both paper and electronic and monitor accordingly. Able to communicate and liaise with service users, relatives and with other professionals, on a day to day basis.
Brandon Wood Farm is a day opportunity located on the border of Coventry and Warwickshire. We have a small number of large and small breed animals that service users are supported to care for each day. The farm also has a number of gardened areas that service users tend and grow vegetables, fruits and plants. We support people that may not be able to access community activities due to their complex needs and behaviours that challenge. Due to our unique setting we are able to provide the space and tranquillity to people who are sensitive to sensory overload.
Coventry City Council provides it staff with quality training and qualifcations to enble you to carry out your role effectively and inline with it’s policies and procedures.
