It’s getting better all the time in HEREFORDSHIRE
We have been through a time of change in our Legal Children’s Wellbeing team and we are now moving forward with a well-resourced team, working closely with our very supportive client department. Whilst our recent OFSTED stated we required improvement it also said
“When risks increase, and children are no longer able to live safely at home, the local authority is making increasingly good use of its legal powers to safeguard and protect children.”
“As a consequence of a recent court judgement, it was recommended that the local authority should review all cases where children were subject of s20 Children Act 1989 arrangements. As a result, a targeted and effective action plan has led to more recent assertive decision-making and the progression of plans for some children. “
We are looking for Solicitors who help us continue with this progress and help our client department to become outstanding. We welcome Solicitors at or towards the beginning of their career who want to specialise in this area of law. We hope you will come for the experience and like it so much you will want to stay.
The work is demanding but you will get excellent professional supervision. The client department is small and friendly and our local judiciary are very supportive. Our private practice colleagues are encouraging and reasonable. As a team we want to get it right and provide the best possible service for the children of Herefordshire
You will be based in our modern offices at Plough Lane Hereford with free parking, staff canteen and views of the Herefordshire Hills. We encourage working from home and a lot of our court work is in Worcester. Herefordshire is a beautiful county with easy links for commuting from Gloucester, Worcester, Newport and Abergavenny.
