Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant
Penn Hall School is a special school which provides for 82 children aged 3 - 19 with a range of physical and associated sensory difficulties.Governors are seeking to employ a Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant from 1st September 2018 to join a well organised staff team of Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants supporting the needs of children ranging from aged 3 to 19 during the lunchtime session.Post Tasks to include the following:1. Assist with preparation of dining hall for lunchtime.2. Supervise and help with distribution of food to designated tables.3. Support pupils in serving lunch as appropriate to their needs and disabilities.4. Encourage appropriate behaviour and table manners.5. Undertake training/guidance to support pupils with assisted feeding.6. Encourage pupils to tidy and clear away dishes and cutlery to the best of their ability.7. Support colleagues with leaving the dining area tidy and ready for the afternoon session.8. Supervise pupils in terms of mobility and movement along the corridor and help them to be ready for their next activity e.g. putting on coats.9. Ensure all pupils are safe both inside the school and outside on the playground. Maintain good standards of behaviour and discipline, informing the Senior Supervisor or the classroom staff of any difficulties.10. Engage pupils, where possible in appropriate play and leisure activities both inside the school and/or outside on the playground.11. Undertake any other duties that may be determined to be within the level of responsibility of the post.Have the ability to relate to children with special educational needs and physical disabilitiesDemonstrate flexibility with the description of the role.Have an understanding of basic hygiene.Be able to work constructively as part of a team.Understand the team responsibility and your own position within the teamPlease note that only completed on-line applications will be accepted.
