18.5 Hours per week – Fixed Term until 31/07/2019

Staffordshire County Council is seeking a creative, dedicated and forward thinking individual to join us as a Teaching & learning Advisor on a fixed term basis until July 2019. Working within the Skills & Employability, Community Learning Team to drive and enhance the quality of teaching and learning and performance of the Service, in addition to continuing to create a culture of innovation and excellence, driven by high expectations that have been set for the area.

The Community Learning Service leads in the strategic planning, delivery, monitoring and management of a wide range of personal, community and development learning opportunities for adults and families across Staffordshire.  This encompasses programmes and activities covering a spectrum of learning including:

  • Family learning, including maths and English and wider family learning programmes
  • Informal adult learning in a wide range of settings
  • Adult “first steps” learning that promotes engagement back into learning for those who would benefit from support to progress into further education or training
  • Learning for leisure, pleasure and personal health and well-being
  • Targeted and specialist adult learning to support vulnerable or priority groups and individuals

The service aims to be responsive to the needs of the community, whilst delivering a high quality and cost effective outcomes, operating within the targets, regulations and guidance of the relevant funding bodies and inspectorates. 

Reporting to the Community Learning Manager, the successful candidate will have extensive teaching experience with good knowledge and experience of outstanding practice in teaching and learning; experience of advising and supporting tutors/ teachers through coaching and mentoring and experience of the Ofsted FE and Skills Common Inspection Framework and inspections.
