Trading Standards enforce a variety of laws covering the safety of goods, preventing people committing frauds, maintaining high standards in the food chain, among other duties. Officers conduct audits on businesses including farms and factories to ensure standards are met. Officers will also carry out criminal investigations into breaches of the law and give evidence at court.

The Role

This post will appeal to a person that wants to work in a team covering a wide variety of laws, businesses and trading practices. If you have an interest in law enforcement work, good communication skill, analysis skill, be confident in IT and maths skills and enjoy working as part of a team, then this apprenticeship will be perfect for you.

Fixed term contract for 

Apprenticeship Pay Scale from 1 April 2018: 

Point 3 = £14,247.88 per annum 
Point 4 = £15,116.66 per annum – completed 12 months and aged 25+

Key Requirements

You'll be qualified at A Level or have Level 3 equivalent qualifications, with the ability to communicate to a range of different people effectively and an accurate, consistent approach to work. You'll also demonstrate sincerity, empathy and professionalism in dealing with customers, and be a willing and positive member of a team, pro-actively supporting colleagues to achieve team objectives. Ideally, you'll be someone who has a desire to undertake a career in Trading Standards / Intelligence related services.

This Apprenticeship will start in September/October 2018, subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks. You must have completed/be about to complete full time education in order to apply.
