We are recruiting for a Commissioning Officer to work within the Education and Skills Strategic Commissioning Team. The unit delivers commissioned services provision to the Education and Skills Team within the Children, Families and Communities directorate.

This is an exciting time to join the team, as we look to refocus on key areas of work, ranging from oversight and risk management of a multi million pound external contract for education services to ensuring value for money and evidenced commissioning for children and young people with Special Educational Needs.

We are looking for someone with a drive and action focused approach just as much as your experience and track record within either a commissioning, contracts or project management role. Whilst a knowledge of education services is desirable, your ability to quickly learn new areas of work and pick out key issues and risks is more important. We are looking for skillset and ability, rather than knowledge of the sector, as that can be developed.

For further information on duties, responsibilities and attributes required please refer to the attached Job Description and Person Specification.   Proposed interview date 5th September 2018
