Libraries play an essential role within the communities of Solihull and our services are constantly evolving to ensure that we meet customer expectations. We are passionate about delivering excellent customer service.

You will be a member the Core Library Team delivering an efficient, customer focused, front line library, information and ICT service, assisting customers in making full use of the library resources and facilities. You will assist in answering face to face, telephone and digital enquiries e.g. by email, using printed, digital and other resource formats including the internet.

The post holder will be customer focused, flexible, and an enthusiastic member of the Core Library Team, providing a seamless service to all customers.

You should possess the following skills:-

  • Good communication skills
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • A basic knowledge and understanding of Customer Service

The post holder will be expected to work both on their own initiative and respond to customer enquiries.

The post holder will deliver a high standard of customer service. You will ensure that customer needs are clearly understood and followed through to conclusion through the use of effective problem solving and interpersonal skills.

Although this post is based at The Core Library, you will also be required to work at other Solihull Libraries.

You will be required to work one evening and one Saturday every other week.
