The Role

4 hours per week, every Saturday at Bedworth Library and additional Sundays at Nuneaton Library on a rota basis.

The role is often the first point of contact for all users of the library service.
The post holder will be an integral part of the team ensuring a positive experience for customers of all ages. The role of the General Assistant involves participating in direct service delivery and support, including shelving, assisting customers, the active promotion of books, reading and events.
The post includes answering enquiries and giving IT and signposted assistance to all users of the service. For a full description of the responsibilities of the post see the Job Description. 

Key Requirements

  • Good numeracy and literacy which includes the ability to work with decimal numbers and the ability to sort alphabetically. 
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public in a customer service environment. 
  • Experience of using ICT and Windows based computer packages.
