HR Adviser - Ref: RT35718
£25,212- £29,614 (FTE) pro-rata to term-time
Temporary position to cover maternity leave working 37 hours per week, term-time only

As a member of the HR team you will be providing advice to Headteachers and Principals and all levels of management on the implementation of HR policies and procedures, particularly sickness. 

In addition, you will be advising on disciplinary matters, grievances, attendance, performance management, redundancy, TUPE transfers and change management.  Such support includes direct involvement with employees and attendance at formal hearings as required.                                                                                                             

You will be working out in schools and academies by yourself across the Walsall Borough and some outside the West Midlands.  You will need to be able to respond to sensitive and complicated matters whilst in the school/Academy. Due to working with school governing bodies occasional evening work will also be required and in some instances visits to staff in their homes. 

It will be important to ensure you keep yourself updated on employment law changes and ensure these are reflected in your working practices.  

It is a fast paced environment which requires staff to work autonomously and with flexibility to ensure the high standards of customer service are provided at all times.  The team prides itself on the professional reputation they have built over a number of years working with the Schools/Academies, the post holders will be required to uphold professional standards at all times. 

Applicants must have a strong commitment to customer service.  Applicants must also have GCSE (or equivalent) at Grade 9-4 (A*-3) in English and Maths and Level 3 HRM qualification (or equivalent)
