James Brindley School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual who has experience in working with pupils who have ASC as their primary need from KS2 up to GCSE level and beyond. To support the activities of the individual pupil assigned, you should have experience of assisting pupils in a classroom environment, including those with special educational needs, specifically in ASC. You should be able to implement agreed behaviour management strategies consistently and effectively. A good standard of education and NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants (or working towards) are essential.
At James Brindley School, we provide education for children and young people whilst they are in hospital or are unable to attend their mainstream school due to medical conditions or special educational needs. We teach across 11 sites including teaching centres and hospitals in Birmingham. We also provide a home teaching service, designed to educate pupils in their own homes.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
