North Warwickshire and Hinckley and Bosworth have a joint programme for the distribution of approximately £1.2 million of European funding through the LEADER programme.  This funding is being used to develop and support projects that contribute to growing the rural economy in the two boroughs.

This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering this Programme for the benefit of businesses and communities across North Warwickshire and Hinckley and Bosworth.

The Development Officer will be responsible for promoting the local LEADER programme and working with potential applicants to bring forward projects that contribute to its successful delivery.  You must have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate with a range of stakeholders and have the ability to analyse financial and performance data.  Experience of delivering a range of marketing activities, as well as project development, are essential, as is a understanding of the factors influencing business investment decisions.  The successful applicant will be based in Atherstone, but will be required to spend time at offices in Hinckley.

Applicants for this interesting and challenging position will need a flexible approach to working hours, as evening and weekend work will be required on occasions. Access to transport for use at work and a valid current driving licence is essential.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and, as such, appointment will be conditional upon receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of criminal records via the Disclosure and Barring Service, before the appointment is confirmed.  This will include details of cautions, reprimands or final warnings, as well as convictions. An Enhanced Disclosure will be required.
