Warwickshire County Council County Highways investigate, cost and design highway structural maintenance schemes/works. The works are delivered in conjunction with the term maintenance contractor and include carriageway/footway reconstruction, resurfacing, structural patching, micro-asphalt, surface dressing, footway slurry sealing and drainage schemes.  We also deliver small scale capital projects for a range of clients which includes traffic schemes and pedestrian crossings. 

We’re looking for an Administrator to join us. 

The Role

37.0 Hours per Week

Joining our team you’ll be responsible for providing general administrative duties including, but not limited to, raising Task Orders for maintenance contractors; managing the defect pool of work; typing correspondence; answering the phones as well as assisting in the admin and investigation of public enquiries.  In addition you’ll be working with internal and external stakeholders including the public, Councillors and Emergency Services and undertake routine financial processes by monitoring invoices and making payments. You’ll also help with other duties as required.

Key Requirements

You will need to have good and accurate literacy, numeracy and administrative skills and the ability to analyse information to solve general queries. You’ll also need good keyboard skills. As you’ll be managing a variety of relationships with different stakeholders, it’s important you have good communication skills and can work on your own initiative.  Good planning and organising skills are key for this role and you should be used to working under pressure to meet deadlines allowing flexibility and resilience.
