Adult Education Wolverhampton is an Outstanding - Grade 1 provider delivering a wide ranging curriculum including accredited and non-accredited SFA funded courses as well as other non-SFA programmes. It serves the diverse communities of the City and has the success of students in priority neighbourhoods at the heart of its mission.

Adult Lecturer conditions – Scale 4 – 10 (£19,667 – £23,861 pro-rata)

10 hours per week only (400 Teaching hours per year plus 340 in-attendance hours per year)

The Service is looking to appoint a teacher to teach adults in the subject of Mathematics. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record for delivery of high quality teaching, learning and assessment in this subject area.

Successful candidates will hold a full teaching qualification, ideally a Level 5 teaching subject specialism, an assessors’ qualification and a degree or equivalent in their relevant subject specialism. In addition, candidates will have a broad range of experience in Post 16 education and training with excellent communication and organisational skills. You may also have a proven track record in student support, curriculum development and outstanding curriculum delivery. Knowledge of the requirements of a variety of exam boards, accreditation modes and means of assessment relevant to adult students is desirable.

You must demonstrate a good understanding of adult learning contexts and the motivations and barriers facing students, and you will also be able to demonstrate a good understanding of working with people with disability and/or special needs which is essential in some delivery areas.
