Principal Planning Officer (Policy)
Over the next few years Dudley will see planned investment of some £400 million in physical regeneration activities across the borough, this includes the extension of the Metro from Wednesbury to Brierley Hill, an £81 million mixed use development in Dudley Town Centre, an £18 million transport interchange hub, investment in research and development centres of excellence and the continued investment in the borough’s leisure and tourism attractions.
In addition the DY5 Enterprise Zone will help to drive forward investment in advanced manufacturing and the professional and creative sectors to create a dynamic and diverse economy.
However the borough also faces challenges in meeting the required housing numbers to accommodate the projected household growth in addition to planning for the future requirements of industry.
We are therefore seeking a visionary policy based planning professional who can lead in the delivery of the Dudley Local Plan as well as key aspects of the Black Country Core Strategy review to help shape emerging plans at the sub regional and local levels.
The role will also play a critical part in the delivery of the next phase of planned investment within the borough, working in partnership with key stakeholders, to realise the ambitious plans of the Council and residents in creating a rich and diverse place to live, work and play
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career with a top performing Planning Department that continues to be ranked within the top 10% nationally and to be part of a Council that recognises and rewards excellence.
