Working Pattern

Coventry City Council Legal Services is looking for a motivated and proactive Lawyer to work within its Regulatory Team in a permanent role. You will be required to handle the full range of local authority regulatory prosecutions, including acting as an advocate in court. You will also provide advice on licensing and information governance matters including attendance at meetings with Councillors.

It is a fast paced role in which you will be able to strengthen and develop your existing skills within a supportive team and Legal Service.

You will be a qualified and experienced Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (Fellow).

You will have knowledge of local authority regulatory law/ criminal litigation and have experience of acting as an advocate, particularly in the Magistrates Court. It is an advantage for you to have knowledge and experience of local authority law and in particular licensing and information governance matters.

You will be able to work effectively as part of a team and establish good relations with your client departments and outside agencies.

Good organisational, communication and IT skills will be required, as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines.
