This post is a Project Officer role in the Economy & Infrastructure Directorate required to deliver transport projects (currently to the value of £500k plus) from a wide range of sources within the directorate, as well as supporting larger projects (up to £5m) that have influences across directorates, outside agencies, business, and communities as well as for Councillors and the public.
These projects include the provision of walking, cycling, and bus infrastructure improvements such as controlled crossings, new off-road cycle routes and new bus hardstandings with shelter, as well as public realm improvement, junction enhancements, signing improvements and accident remedial measures.
This post has responsibility for managing small projects from their financial and aspirational inception through development, design and delivery.
The successful applicant will be delivering an annual programme of small civils projects on highway which will need to be to standard specification and designed with the end user in mind. They will need to ensure that appropriate consultation has taken place on these projects as well as liaising with contractors on programme delivery and managing the various requirements of a project of this type including project budgets.
