Ambition Coventry is part-funded by the European Social Fund and supported under the Youth Employment Initiative.

Ambition Coventry is an established programme that has been extended to run until December 2020. It is set up to ensure young people in Coventry get the best start in life through high quality support into job opportunities.

Do you believe that young people experiencing mental health difficulties should have the same employment opportunities as other members of society? If the answer is yes, then please read on.

The Employment and Wellbeing Service have joined forces with “Improving Access to Psychological Therapies” (IAPT) Service which is delivered by Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust and Coventry and Warwickshire Mind to develop an exciting partnership with the aim of increasing employment opportunities for young people experiencing common mental health difficulties in Coventry.

Working with young people with mental health difficulties, health professionals and employers you will be responsible for carrying out employment focused assessments and then working with the young person to create a clear plan of action which will enable the individual to move closer to and into employment.

You will be responsible for sourcing and then working with employers to develop good quality sustainable employment opportunities which match the employment aspirations of the people you are supporting. You will also ensure that individuals and employers receive the appropriate support and guidance to succeed, linking with other professionals and services where appropriate.

You will need to be excellent at developing strong relationships, an effective communicator able to work with a wide range of people and crucially have the skills and ability to negotiate with employers across a wide range of sectors.

A key part of this role involves working with young people, families, professionals and employers to raise awareness and challenge the stigma and prejudices which prevents so many people from achieving their potential. You will need to have good self-management skills, flexibility and the ability to meet challenging but highly rewarding targets.

If you are dynamic, able to use your initiative and believe that you have the drive and skills to be able to make a real difference to the lives of young people experiencing mental health difficulties then we want to hear from you.

Please be aware the three behavioural questions in the application form will be the core of your application assessment for each of the posts. Therefore, please answer with as much information as possible
