Do you have an interest in developing a career in print and design? Are you willing to work towards a qualification while gaining hands on experience?
If so then we have a great opportunity to join the Print and Design team as we are currently recruiting for an apprenticeship post that will provide an opportunity for the successful candidates to gain skills, experience and knowledge in a busy print and design service whilst working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
As an apprentice you will:
- work alongside experienced staff
- gain job-specific skills
- earn a wage and get holiday pay
- study towards a related qualification
The Print and Design service is part of the Council’s Information, Communication and Technologies service. We are looking for:
Graphic Design & Customer Support Apprentice – joining the design team providing a quality, customer focussed, efficient and cost effective design and customer support function whilst studying towards NVQ Certificate in Digital Pre-Press for Print Artwork.
This post is for a fixed term of 13 months, and will be paid for 37 hours per week which would be office based with on-site training one day per week. In addition costs relating to the provision of the training will be met by Walsall Council.
This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers.

National Minimum Wage
Aged 25 and over = £7.50 per hour
21 to 24 = £7.05 per hour
18 to 20 = £5.60 per hour
Under 18 = £4.05
