Information Governance Officer

Reporting to the Head of Information Governance, the post holder will be part of a team responsible for the provision of information governance (IG) services across the City Council with the delivery of advice and guidance on all aspects of IG and Records Management and other services such as police disclosure, data sharing and information security.
You will support the establishment of a proactive and integrated approach to information governance, the General Data Protection Regulation, and the Data Protection Act 2018 to ensure that good practice is embedded across the organisation.
You will have excellent attention to detail, be highly organised, a great communicator, solution focused and have a working knowledge of Information Law; Data Protection Act 2018, GDPR, Police Disclosure, Freedom of Information (FOI), and/or Subject Access Requests (SAR) Act 2018.

Working together in promoting a culture of information compliance and information governance best practices across the organisation, the Information Governance team provides expert support to Coventry City Council in ensuring its compliance to relevant information legislation and regulations.
