37 hours per week

We are seeking a well motivated team player with excellent organisational and communication skills to join the Democratic Services team in co-ordinating the work of a number of committees and panels - including business planning and agenda preparation; the provision of procedural advice and co-ordination of actions arising from meetings.

  • Two A-levels or equivalent,
  • Ability to attend evening meetings for which an attendance allowance will be paid.
  • Full driving licence and/ or access to transport.
  • Relevant administrative experience, preferably in the areas of Committee Administration and/or provision of support for councillors but candidates who do not have this level of experience will be judged against the other essential criteria.
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Clear and concise communication skills, especially written
  • Ability to produce accurate work to tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated to succeed, able to work on own initiative with the minimum of supervision but within a team environment
  • Commitment to working in customer focused environment
  • Experience and knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • The ability to produce accurate work to tight and often conflicting deadlines.
