30 hours per week term time plus one week for PD days


Scale 4 scp 18-21 £9.78 - £10.65 per hour (as of 1 April 2018) dependant on experience and length of service.


We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic and flexible Learning Mentor to join our team. This role plays a pivotal part in helping to support pupil premium students to reach their full potential and contributing to the ongoing success of the school. Successful candidates will develop and deliver successful programmes and projects aimed to support and aid the progression of students.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A passion for working with students in accessing the curriculum to the full, to ensure that they make excellent progress and reach their true potential.
  • A commitment to drive the raising of standards which have an impact on learning and monitoring progress, focusing on established testing and tracking systems and adjusting provision to meet changing needs.
  • The ability to work both using their own initiative and as part of a wider team.
  • The ability to work with individual students in addition to small groups.

Burton Borough is a mixed Comprehensive School of 1100 students, situated on the Shropshire/Staffordshire border.
