At Temple Meadow we have an exciting opportunity as we start the year for some LSA2 (Learning Support Assistants Level 2) posts. We aim to recruit to four posts in total This advert is linked to the two afternoon posts.

We really are looking for motivated, flexible, adaptable and caring individuals with the capacity to work across KS1 and KS2. It goes without saying that you need to be appropriately literate and numerate to support the curriculum needs of primary age pupils. In this role you will be supporting learning throughout the morning and then you will cover key aspects of our lunchtime provision; therefore you need to have the adaptability to work across both roles.

The working hours will be 12.00-4.30 each day, covering lunchtime provision, afternoon learning and then our club provision after the school day. These are permanent posts. We are a ‘Good’ school, as judged by Ofsted. You will join a teaching and support team with high aspirations regarding meeting learner needs.

These post will start immediately following pre-employment checks and satisfactory receipt of references. The successful applicant will have an NVQ2 or equivalent and you must have prior experience of working in school in a paid post capacity (this post is not suitable for applicants with only work experience in school). These two posts are likely to be based in KS1 or KS2 initially therefore you need to have the confidence and skills to support this age group. LSA2 at Temple Meadow need to be highly professional, adaptable and child centred.

Ideally you will have experience of interventions to support learning including Phonics. You should have an understanding of the primary curriculum. Ideally you will have relevant key training such as First Aid. You must absolutely love working with children helping them to develop their full potential. You need to be reliable, responsible, hardworking and ever mindful of safeguarding issues. You will be part of the capacity to host a range of after school clubs to support extended learning.

We are very proud of our school; we offer a vibrant and stimulating learning environment. We really do have the most fantastic pupils with excellent behaviour and attitude to learning. We have a Staff Rewards Policy as our staff team are highly valued. All Learning Support come under the wing of a phase leader and are part of their team. To work at Temple Meadow, you must have high aspirations; be a consummate professional, be able to work at our pace, and always to a very high standard. We will invest in your training and support you in developing your career.

Application packs are available from and returnable to the school office. Application packs can also be downloaded from the Local Authority website. All completed applications must be returned either by post or delivered directly to the school office. Applicants are very welcome to visit the school; interested applicants can contact the school on 01384 569021 to arrange an appointment. School visit sessions are scheduled for 18/09/18 at 0900 and 20/09/18 at 1400.

Please note part of our shortlisting process uses the application form to assess your literacy and presentation skills. Our recruitment process will involve a long and shortlisting process, so we get the opportunity of seeing you in class interacting and supporting learning. Our long list will be narrowed down to a short list for interview in the afternoon.

Please state clearly on your application which advert (AM or PM) you are applying for, as there are some key differences in the roles
