The Role

A permanent opportunity has arisen for a driving instructor to join our friendly training centre.

The post holder will instruct and assess personnel in the use of relevant vehicles and the range of driving skills required to comply with current Blue Light standards.

The successful candidate will provide training for students for approval to drive service vehicles and instruct on Emergency Response Driver Training courses (ERDT). Provide reactive and proactive research into all matters affecting driver training, instructor training, licensing, legislation, resources and road safety and to present these findings in report and PowerPoint formats as required.

The Person

The ideal applicant will be in possession of a current car and LGV Category C driving licence, as well as having significant driving instructor experience and preferably have passed a driving test set by ROSPA, Institute of Advanced Motorists or equivalent.

It is desirable that the post holder has a Health & Safety qualification, First Aid at Work Certificate and is an Approved Driving Instructor. Experience and qualifications to undertake off road training, initial LGV licence instruction and towing training are also desirable. There may be the need to undertake additional training within this role where required.
