Our Governors are seeking to appoint a HLTA with PE Lead element in school to support our children in their learning. The role will involve being responsible for specific interventions such as speech and language, pastoral care of children with social/emotional/behavioral needs, covering classes across the whole HLTA remit as and when necessary, as well as day to day Teaching Assistant requirements.


The PE Lead element of the post includes delivering PE tuition to pupils, swimming tuition and gala co-ordination, working with the Local Authority School Sport Partnership to develop and enter teams for inter-school sports tournaments and competitions. Organising and delivering after-school sports clubs for our children to help them learn and enjoy a variety of sporting skills.

Key requirements

It is essential that you:

Are a qualified HLTA with exceptional classroom practice with a passion for developing children’s learning.

Have high expectations and an understanding of raising achievement.

Are creative, dynamic and a positive team member.

Are qualified in Literacy and Maths to at least GCSE standard.

Possess good ICT skills (Microsoft Office and Activ Inspire).

Are Read Write Inc. trained.

A Sports Coaching/Outdoor Education qualification is desirable but not essential.

ELKLAN, Lego Build to Express, Cool Kids and other relevant intervention program training is highly desirable.
