The RoleWe’re looking for a full time caretaker to work at Clapham Terrace Primary School, Leamington Spa, working 37.5 hours per week – (variable hours), there will also be some requirement to do some split shifts as and when required. Monday to Friday. The expected pattern will be as follows:
Monday - Friday split shift
6.45am - 10.15 = 3.5 hours x 5
2pm - 6pm = 4 hours x 5
7.5 hours per day x 5 days = 37.5 hours
These hours are negotiable depending on the candidate experience You’ll take responsibility for ensuring our offices/ schools are cleaned , secured and maintained to a high standard. You’ll be operating cleaning equipment, undertake training activities, carry out caretaking duties. You will work under broad direction and laid down procedures and be responsible for managing caretaking services of all buildings forming the school site, assisting the head to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Responsible to the Headteacher or nominated representative, undertake caretaking, cleaning and site maintenance routines and respond to emergencies relating to the site as necessary.
You will have little or no responsibility for carrying out minor or temporary maintenance and building repairs and have staff supervisory responsibility and some limited budgetary responsibility

This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure. Used to working within a team and on your own initiative you will be flexible and take pride in your work, willing to undertake training as required. Experience of caretaker duties /cleaning is desirable but not essential as training will be provided. Basic DIY Skills essential.
You will be able: • To provide a level of cleaning at site that achieves or improves upon the standards laid down in the specification • To work as part of a team (where applicable) to promote Warwickshire County Council Services • To comply with all Health & Safety Legislation, promoting a safe working environment for yourself and Colleagues • Basic DIY duties essential
